Like father, like son...

2nd Anniversary in Vegas!

We just returned from a long weekend in Las Vegas - what a fun time! There were 18 of us from Ryan's family there, celebrating his uncle's 50th birthday. It was 110-114 degrees while we were there, which is hot for even Vegas! We lounged by the pool, gambled (but didn't lose too much money!), saw the Blue Man Group show at the Venetian, and ate and drank a lot! We also visited the Hofbrau Haus Las Vegas - an authentic replica of the one we just visited in Germany! Our 2nd wedding anniversary occured during this trip (June 26th) and we had a fabulous dinner at Al Dente (an Italian restaurant in Ballys) to celebrate. We began an anniversary tradition of sharing a bottle of wine and saving the cork - then we write on it the date and restaurant where we celebrated. We are both sad to be back at work, but are looking forward to celebrating the 4th of July up north this weekend! My flowers are alive!

Every year, my mom and I get together and plant flowers. It is a fun visit and she knows way more about flowers than I do, so she helps me pick out good ones to plant. She also helps with the digging which is great because I HATE worms! This is a picture of some daylilies we planted on the side of our house - they are growing like crazy! We go away so much in the summer it is always a gamble as to whether the flowers will survive, and these at least are making it! So far anyways...
